Sleep training is the process of teaching a baby how to fall asleep independently. This process can help lengthen naps, decrease night feedings and help the child sleep longer stretches at night (if not completely through the night).
The amount of time it takes to sleep train is dependent on the method used, the baby's temperament, consistency and age. On average, it can take between 3 days to up to 2 weeks.
You can begin sleep training your child once the child is 4 months or at minimum 12lbs.
The most ideal time for sleep training is between 4 to 6 months, however, the best time to sleep train is also when the parents feel ready to sleep train! Both parents/caregivers need to be on board for sleep training success, so truly the best age is when your family is ready to sleep train!
Absolutely not! You may have overnight feeds for your child as long as you wish to. Typically, after 6 to 8 months, a child does not require overnight feedings, however, if the parent chooses to keep night feedings, that is not a problem and will not interfere with the sleep training process.
Not at all! There are many different sleep training methods we use. We decide which method would be best based on your child's age, temperament, current sleep habits, etc. However, rest assured that we do not use the full cry-it-out method.
Bedtime texting support means that I will be available via text messaging on the first night of sleep training from the time your child goes to bed until they fall asleep.
Overnight texting support means that I am available overnight via text messaging from either 10pm to 2am or 10pm to 6am depending on the add-on you choose. I respond to your text within one hour.
